I have known Jozi for a really long time and it's been fun to watch her grow up, get married to a wonderful man and have two beautiful children with him. They invited me to come and document their family time together as they wanted to capture some memories in their first home before moving on to another house. Lifestyle photography is basically just that, capturing the now memories in a setting like your home or a playground or anywhere really. It's spontaneous with a little bit of intentional thought, such as de-cluttering and cleaning the house and picking out comfortable but complimentary outfits. It's not the same as a styled shoot where every little detail is choreographed. We set it up and then just go with the flow. It's the perfect way to capture a moment in time to remember how things were just now.
I watched and shot as the McGinnis family played together, had a snack, read a book and jumped on beds. We even went outside to shoot some hoops! The goal was to shoot in various favorite places in and around the house so that the kids can look back and remember their first house, even though they are really young. What a beautiful, fun, playful time and the images are a perfect representation of their love for each other.

I am so glad that Jozi reached out and asked me. I love being able to build friendship with my Clients (Friends) while giving them physical (and digital) memories. Thank you McGinnis Family!
